A Clear Vision for the Community

On Sunday, October 26th, 2025, the team from Accra Specialist Eye Hospital had the privilege of partnering with ICGC The New Wine Temple to conduct a highly impactful Free Eye Screening Exercise. This initiative is a core part of our mission to ensure quality, accessible eye care and promote proactive eye health within the Greater Accra community.

 

Remarkable Community Participation

 

The turnout for the event was truly inspiring, demonstrating a strong commitment to health within the congregation and surrounding community.

We were pleased to provide screenings for a total of 104 participants, including:

  • Adults: 72 participants (26 Males, 46 Females)

  • Children (Ages 10–17): 32 participants (14 Males, 18 Females)

 

 

Advanced Screening and Clinical Impact

 

Our dedicated team of specialists provided comprehensive and professional eye checks throughout the day. A major highlight was the use of advanced diagnostic equipment to ensure thorough screening:

  • Fundus Photo Scans Conducted: 48 adults received these specialized scans, which are crucial for detailed examination of the retina and early detection of conditions like glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.

Immediate Support and Solutions

Beyond the examinations, we were able to provide immediate relief and solutions to many participants:

  • Optical Sales: 2 pairs of essential Readers (spectacles) were purchased, instantly improving vision for those who needed them.

  • Medication Sales: A total of 40 units of various essential eye medications were dispensed, including Pharmamiocell (26), Olohistine (9), Tobim Eye Drops (4), and Blutadin (1).

The screening was overwhelmingly well-received, with participants expressing sincere appreciation for the initiative and the professionalism of the Accra Specialist Eye Hospital team.

The exercise was impactful, contributing significantly to community awareness of eye health and providing vital services to over 100 people. We look forward to conducting more community initiatives as we continue our mission to safeguard the vision of every Ghanaian.
